NEW TUNE: HUME “Real Close” DUBMIX

artworks-000349785003-qhvam1-t500x500Sometimes an artist emerges into the scene already seemingly fully-formed, a natural combination of talent and prowess. In this way HUME emerges into the musical ether as a stark, talented singer/songwriter from the middle of nowhere in Buckinghamshire, with his debut release “Real Close”.
What is immediately apparent is HUME’s soft gravel of a vocal style, a textured thing of beauty that frames an instrumental palette of electronic production and R&B. “Real Close” is a languid, warm introduction to an artist that will inevitably conjure initial comparisons to the natural lushness of Honne or Aquilo. However it’s the dynamics of “Real Close” – how it meanders through soft keys and percussion towards an intense, refined conclusion that defines HUME on his own terms.HUME_ Secondary1.jpeg
Speaking on the track, HUME states: “The final lyric sums up my mindset; not being able to fully address what I’m wanting to say when I’m infatuated by someone – all those confused, conflicting feelings and not being able to truly tell if it will be something short-lived, or something a little longer.”
If this is the first taste of the standard of ability and technical craftsmanship we can expect from the young artist from Buckinghamshire, be prepared to hear a lot more about HUME as 2018 unfolds.
