NEW EP: Trè Samuels debut “Lost in Translation”

unnamed(3).pngTrè Samuels’ debut EP ‘Lost in Translation (L.I.T) is out now. Since landing a publishing deal with Warner Chappell, Trè has been going from strength to strength. Claiming Vogue’s spotlight at New York Fashion week earlier this year and now, dropping his debut release, the 17-year-old Melbourne artist is taking leaps towards establishing himself in the music world.

Before his modelling career took flight, for the past 2 years he has found a home in the creative artist development camp of independent label Creamy Spies, shaping sounds and words, locked down in a Melbourne studio with his producer Rachel James, he harnessed experiences that have seen him at the forefront of high fashion around the world, and created a debut EP with features from Sensible J (House of Beige/Remi), Anthony Liddell (Opiuo/Kimbra), Silentjay (Rhythm Section/Hiatus Kaiyote).

‘Lost in Translation’ (L.I.T) is a stripped back R&B sound with a curious pop sensibility. With soul music firmly in its wheelhouse, vocals float over slinky bass, dreamy synths and sloppy drums. Lyrically, Trè draws on real love, stalkers, the swinging emotions between the grind and the ego. There are themes about the transition from normalcy to popularity and exploring what it means to be a teen in the chaos of traveling and the irony of modelling.
